Tour Guide Drama

Apparently a few secret shoppers came by while we were doing our tours and someone did not perform adequately enough and so was fired. Our manager tried to defend our staff but the higher ups won in the end. I still don't know who got fired, but I hope it's not the person I'm thinking of.

Oooo, one of the research assistants at the lab works really close by to where I work. I kind of watched him from a distance when I had spare time. He's really cute. He made me a better tour guide, Hahaha, by keeping me smiling.

I helped mother pay for her car insurance and now I'm in the negatives. She also wanted us to move into this cockroach infested sty to save $100. They were in the refrigerator for gosh sakes.

Needless to say, the move is quite stressful. Bills need transferring, things need to be boxed and moved. Unfortunately, since I wasn't expecting to move, I didn't book anytime off work. So it's essentially a 41 hour work week for me and then during spare time, moving. I'm surprised at how calm I am about everything, didn't even throw one tantrum (although if some new issue comes up, who knows).

Tired... but at least I'm makin' some money.

Cheers,

Aww I hope things pan out well with the move and everything. I think it's so weird how you seem to be in the same loop as my friends everytime I read a blog post of yours.

Some of my friends are going through an apartment transition fix themselves right now and it's pretty crazy. One of my friends had her boyfriend break up with her like the first month of the lease so he left her to pay for rent which is really high. And now she's stuck broken hearted and financially, well, doomed.

But I hope things turn out for the best, like always.
Like I said, for every downside, theres an up!
And I hope the upside comes sooner than expected. Just hang in there!

Secret Shoppers can be SO horrible! And the trend seems to be expanding beyond retail and into just everything service-oriented (like tours, as you found out). It is even happening in health care. I guess it makes the "product" better, but such stress!

So have you found a place to live with your mother? Too bad there wasn't something in the building you are already in; then perhaps the move would have been easier for you. I don't envy you. Until I bought my house a few years ago, I moved on average about every 6 months. I got pretty good at it, but I never enjoyed it.

Good luck with everything! Are you back in school yet?

Masa: I'm hangin' I'm hangin'.

Brent: We found a place and will be moving in very last minute (tomorrow). School starts in a week. Hahaha, I like how these things happen at the most opportune times. Thanks for the well wishes, I will appreciate and cherish them. ^_^
